It was so much fun collaborating with the Austin based company FunAir™. They create amazing inflatable toys out of a heavy duty vinyl material.
I met Jenn who works in sales and operations and has a passion for reuse, recycling and upcycling and WOW the collaboration began.
It is evident the company is committed to the reuse-upcycling process. To rethink uses for the products you create and are passionate about once they pass their intended purpose takes commitment. It was an honor to work with this innovative business that actively seeks ways to re-purpose their products.
I was able to create several products for them made from used and discontinued material. I loved designing and making all the products we came up with. It was challenging deciding how to cut the material to retain the best design elements. It is apparent the material is of the highest quality, and amazing to work with. The material could also be a bit tricky to sew since it has some thickness to it. Seams and layers took some planning. One good thing was that raw edges weren’t a problem!
Visit my blog to get a better look at the products I made for them. They included an asymmetrical crossbody tote, key-fobs, boxy-bags, shopping totes & some small zippered pouches. Each bag is totally unique and was designed to utilize the best placement of the printed images.
